Work Paint Party

Hope in Christ had a wonderful work paint party and we were truly blessed with great fun and lots to eat thanks to the Bridge church ladies & Ruth for the food and beverages. A huge percentage of our volunteers were youth from Ferrum High school and St Dominic’s, what a privilege it is to see our youth getting involved in the things of God.

Windowsills for House 1 Completed

This month we completed the windowsills for house 1 & installed all the glass in the windows. The roof sheeting for the dining hall was also completed.

Wendy house donation

HIC received a donation of a Wendy house and we were able to set up our Classroom, “fantasy room”

Welcomed 2 Volunteer Groups

In August we welcomed 2 volunteer groups to HIC for much fun laughter and ” physical work”. Thank you to the Deo Victoria church group and St Doms learners for taking the time to visit.

Our projects for the day were as followed: vegetable garden, Moving Stone, Home décor, cup cake decorating & fun with the kids.

Nothing beats all the fun the children had from a game of rounder’s’, musical chairs, Pictionary, dance of (boys vs girls), balloon popping and other activities. Each child was also blessed with their very own Bible.

We Welcomed our First Three Children

On the 22nd of April 2015 we welcomed our first three children to the HIC centre

We Hosted Why Not Africa

Once again we hosted Why Not Africa for yet another successful project where we erected the trusses for house 2 & 3. The children of Hope in Christ were treated to a surprise weekend away to the beach. Thank you VLAM Newcastle for the use of your vehicle and Roots butchery and our members for the braai packs.

Very Wet & Windy Month

December had been a very wet and windy month, we had trees uprooted and our Wendy house roof ripped off. Thanks to the Newcastle community coming to our rescue we are able to walk outside without getting stuck in the mud.

The cause of the fire that killed 11 people at a Newcastle orphanage a year ago remains a puzzle.

Since 9th February 2010 she has been helping the organisation in every capacity(receiving donations, forwarding thank you letters, fundraising for the building fund, and public awareness. She has also been a tremendous comfort and friend to the family.
